My Dearest Google,
You've changed. What more need I say? You were once my beloved, simple and straight forward Queen of search providers. You were self-confident and assured. You were unpretentious and had no need to put on airs. You looked good without fancy makeup, and I loved you for it.
But then something happened. New search providers showed up and began to get some attention. Suddenly your confidence was shaken. You began to wonder, are they prettier than me? Do people like them better? You became jealous and started to "make improvements" and to copy other providers. First, it was the addition of the stupid yahoo like sidebar on your search results page. Your fans told you you were perfect the way you were, that you didn't need a sidebar, but you did not listen. And now you've done it again. You've changed your image search results page. You've tried to get fancy and hip by adding rollover and popup affects. But the new page shows too many results and takes too long to load. Again, your loyal fans have tried telling you that you don't need to fix what isn't broken. But still, you won't listen.
So, my Dearest Google, it is with deepest regret that I accept that we simply have developed irreconcilable differences. As a result, I'm leaving you. And I should tell you up front before you hear it from someone else, then I've already found someone new. She reminds me very much of you, and the way you were when we first met. Her name is AOL Search, and so far the relationship looks promising.
I'm very sorry that it's come to this, but I think if you look at this honestly you'll agree that you only have yourself to blame.
With a heavy heart, Steve

Yeah, the new Google image search is definitley annoying. It falls into the category of, "just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should."
Yahoo start page is getting like that as well.

ditto: Bing! Steve, you must send this letter to PC World or The Register or somewhere. It's exceptionally clever and well written.
